This morning I was on my way to take our daughter Kayla to school, it was an absolutly beautiful morning. The leaves are changing and the sun was shining and she was in a good mood this morning. After I dropped her off, I began to pray for her and her day as I always do in the mornings. I’m not going to lie, even on a great morning like to day, there are things in our world that have me disturbed. I think about the economy, the election and the mind set of most people in this world. It seems that most people have forgotten God and what America once stood for. I admit, I was worrying about the future of this world and what it holds for my children. No sooner than I was in thought about all the bad things that could take place and explaining to God about how much I love my girls and want to protect them from all that’s wrong in the world, a song came on the radio, 90.5. I can’t remember the artist, but the words to the chorus were…”Clouds will rage and storms will race in, but you will be safe in my arms. Rains will pour down, waves will crash round, but you will be safe in my arms.” In the first verse of this song it is actually a mother singing to her little blonde haired, blue eyed daughter telling her that she would be safe in her arms. Then it goes on to point out that that’s what God is saying to us. We will be safe with Him. He knows all that is going on in this world. He knows our fears and concerns, and if I, being only a human, have this strong desire to protect and love my children, how much more He has a desire to protect and love His children. So don’t worry about tomorrow, tomorrow will take care of itself and God will take care of us.
We have started our Fall Can Food Drive and we have set the goal at 1500 cans. We would like to reach the goal this weekend and we can do so if everyone participates. So look through your cabinets or pick up some extra cans at the grocery store this week. If each family will bring at least 15 cans each, we will reach our goal this weekend. Some of you can do more.
The food will go to the Community Storehouse where they prepare food boxes for nearly 100 families each week. This is an awesome ministry and praise the Lord, we get to partner with them and our goal is to send the food. I encourage each one of you to participate and if you know of someone in need, forward them to the Community Storehouse where God will help meet that need.
In Acts chapter 2:44-47 Christians helped each other and set the example for us to follow…….. “44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”

We will have boxes set up at the front doors for the canned items and we will have men available to help assist you as you pull up to the front.
God bless you and thank you for your support.
We have completed two weeks of our 6-week series on “Life Development Plan”. This is an AWESOME series and I am looking forward to what God is going to do in our lives. Even though it was race weekend, we had 299 people at church. (That is our 2nd highest in attendance)
- Week One - We were challenged to write down 5-10 core values and then write our mission statement. Maybe you were not able to do that at week 1. Well, hang on, because you will be able to by the end of the series.
- Week Two - We were challanged on our relationship with God. Are we hot, cold, or lukewarm? And by the way, God hates for us to be lukewarm (drifting). I pray that each person is soul-searching and really thinking about what God wants us to do. We need to discipline ourselves as we intentionally spend time with God through Bible reading, praying, fasting, worship, serving, etc..
If you have never put your faith in Jesus and you do not have a relationship with God, why don’t you stop right now and call out to Him and surrender your life to Him? If you have any questions, please give me a call. 340-4210
- Week Three - will be challenged this week on our “Relationships with people”. (Oct. 26)
- Week Four - Financial Life (Nov. 2)
- Week Five - Physical Life (This is going to be great……don’t miss any of these, but especially not this one on Nov. 9))
- Week Six - Work Life (Nov. 16)
- Mark it down…..on Sunday November 23rd we are going to have our first “Communion Service”. We are going to have a special drama with “Jesus and the Disciples” as we teach about why we have Communion. Each will get a visual of “Jesus the servant” and then “the Lord’s Supper”, but also each will have the opportunity to partake in Communion together.
- One more challenge…….. As a church family, we are reading the book of John and the book of Acts as we go through the Life Development series. If you have not started, I have attached the schedule for you to follow. This Sunday will start week 3. We are reading a chapter a day.
- If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior and want to be baptized, we will have a baptismal service this Sunday night. Let me know if you plan to be baptized.
Have a great week and see ya Sunday (And don’t forget to bring a friend).
